Partnership Resource Center

The Partnership Family Resource Center is a walk-in Resource Center that hosts free parenting classes, workshops, support groups, intervention services, family fun nights and many other events. Our Resource Center is not just community-based; it is integral as part of the community as a whole. Our programs promote the well-being of the whole community, not just participants enrolled in our programs. We also engage in community-building activities that contribute to the social, cultural and economic life of Rancho Cordova and Folsom. By engaging individuals, organizations and companies in our work, we develop relationships that help sustain our mission, build collaborative efforts to support families, and strengthen the community overall. These efforts lead to increased support for the Partnership Resource Center and encourage mutual support and self-help among community members that can decrease our resident's reliance on public and/or governmental support.
The goal of our Resource Center is to work in partnership with the community to build strong families, meet the needs of growing babies and establish a "hub" for community driven and led activities and functions. The Folsom Cordova Community Partnerships mission is to mobilize and integrate resources that enhance the education, health and well being of children and families in our community.
Our projects include:
The Effective Parenting Initiative - This initiative from First Five Sacramento recognizes that while parenting is exciting and fun, it can also be challenging. To support parents in our community, First Five provides us with funding for free parenting workshops, enhanced services to our Partnership Resource Center, and individualized advocacy services for families. The parenting classes provided are:
Make Parenting a Pleasure – the greatest value of Make Parenting a Pleasure is the opportunity for parents to take a break from the stresses of their day-to-day lives and look at how they are managing their lives and their relationships with their families. We discuss basic information, practice, and reinforcement about the concept of taking care of ourselves so that we can better care for our children.
Dare to Be you – The philosophy of Dare to Be You is for parents to develop a strong family support system, a positive self-concept and a sense of personal responsibility and power that enables them to instill these values in their children. Through parent group activities and parent-child activities, this program promotes hope for the future and having a dream or vision as a key to produce a positive outlook on life.
Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families and Communities -- Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families and Communities uniquely and creatively empowers parents by providing them with specific information and activities to assist in teaching children to understand and appreciate family/cultural values as they relate to the development of skills needed to be successful as an adult.
