What is Safety-Net Service?
Safety-Net Services include emergency supply of diapers, baby formula, transportation assistance, mortgage/rental assistance, utilities assistance, and other community resources.

2. When are the walk in times for Safety-Net Services?
Tuesdays 2:30p-6:30p and Fridays 1:00p-6:00p. Other times available by appointment only.

3. What do I need to bring with me to my appointment or during the walk in times?
Proof of income for household; current pay stubs, award letter from SSI and Cal-Works. For utility assistance you must also bring termination of service notice or 15 day/48 hours notice. For mortgage/rental assistance you must bring a 3 day pay or quit notice.

4. Do you have any resources for a family that needs food?
Fresh Food Program distributes fresh food boxes during Tuesdays. The boxes include fresh food that will prepare full meals.

5. How can I receive a food box?
You must call 916-361-8684 ext. 402 on Mondays by 4:00 p.m. and leave your first and last name and phone number. You will receive a conformation phone call back with a time to pick up your food box.

6. How much is a fresh food box?
The food box is free, but you must meet income qualifications.

7. What if I left a message to request a food box and didn't get a call back?
We have limited food boxes each week. A call back reserves a box for you. If you did not receive a call back, you must call again the following Monday to request a box for the next week.

8. How many times am I able to receive Safety-Net Service?
Services are available once a month on emergency based only.
